Which pods & nutrients fit your smart garden?
Own an AeroGarden, Click & Grow, Gardyn, Rise or a generic countertop garden? Tell us the brand or model and we will show the pods, grow sponges and nutrients that fit it -- OEM where it exists, plus the cheaper aftermarket/DIY options that fit the same deck. We read 16 system families and do not guess.
Lettuce Grow Farmstand
Supported (brand active) Community-tested Refillable
Pod format: Semi-proprietary: live pre-germinated SEEDLINGS ($2.49-2.99 each) in custom 'Plant ID Grow Cups' seated in the tower rings (true recirculating hydroponics). The de-facto 'pod' is a living seedling, not a dry sealed pod.
OEM pods: Plant ID Grow Cups (12-pk) + proprietary living seedlings ($2.99 / $2.49 in a grow pack). New buyers often get a free year (three refills).
What fits (aftermarket / DIY): MEDIUM/LOW -- the OEM cup is a NON-standard shape: a tester found third-party seedlings don't seat and ~40% of rockwool fell through the mesh; DIY net-cup adapters ~50% success. The cup/seedling fit is the real lock-in lever.
OEM nutrient: Lettuce Grow 2-part nutrient (A $19.99 / B $19.99). Community teardown identifies it as effectively rebranded JR Peters Jack's Nutrients A&B (a COMMUNITY claim, not OEM-confirmed).
Aftermarket nutrient: HIGH on nutrient (the WEAKEST lock-in here): growers substitute Jack's A&B directly, or MasterBlend 4-18-38 + cal-nitrate + Epsom (12/12/6 g per 5 gal), avoiding OEM Part B's clumping. Leafy greens ~EC 0.8-1.4.
Heads up:
- The trap is the CUP/SEEDLING fit, not the nutrient: generic seedlings/rockwool don't seat reliably (~40-50% DIY failure), funneling buyers into the $2.49-2.99 living-seedling stream.
- OEM Nutrient B clumps/liquefies (OEM-acknowledged) -- a top reason community switches to Jack's/MasterBlend. Real running cost (18-mo review): ~$15/mo nutrient + ~$20-30/mo seedlings; pumps fail ~10-12 mo (~$30).
Many "compatible" / DIY methods are COMMUNITY-tested, not manufacturer-endorsed -- match the physical format (basket diameter, pod type) and dose by the AFTERMARKET nutrient's own schedule, not the unit's reminder light.
