Pod format: OPEN: branded reusable 'grow cups' (net cups) holding Grodan rockwool -- germinate your own seed, no chip/scan.
OEM pods: Aerospring Grow Cups (last ~1 yr; buy more from Aerospring); Grodan rockwool as the OEM medium.
What fits (aftermarket / DIY): HIGH and OEM-blessed: 'you can use any hydroponic medium... they just need to fit our grow cups' -- generic rockwool/coco/clay + size-matched generic net cups substitute.
OEM nutrient: Aerospring Hexgrow 10-6-15 powder (ships with ~300g).
Aftermarket nutrient: OEM EXPLICITLY tells US/EU buyers to source third-party hydroponic nutrients (Amazon/garden center). Avoid organic/low-solubility nutrients -- they clog the misting nozzles.

- Grow cups are a specific diameter; a generic net cup must match to seat. (Exact cup diameter not OEM-published; run to leafy-greens EC ~0.8-1.4.)
Many "compatible" / DIY methods are COMMUNITY-tested, not manufacturer-endorsed -- match the physical format (basket diameter, pod type) and dose by the AFTERMARKET nutrient's own schedule, not the unit's reminder light.
