Which pods & nutrients fit your smart garden?
Own an AeroGarden, Click & Grow, Gardyn, Rise or a generic countertop garden? Tell us the brand or model and we will show the pods, grow sponges and nutrients that fit it -- OEM where it exists, plus the cheaper aftermarket/DIY options that fit the same deck. We read 16 system families and do not guess.
AeroGarden (Sprout / Harvest / Bounty / Farm)
Supply disrupted, then relaunched OEM-confirmed Refillable
Pod format: Proprietary AeroGarden seed pod: a slip-in net basket (~1.5 in / 38 mm net pot) holding a peat/foam grow sponge + a clear biodome cover. Deck hole is ~1.5 in nominal (community fits with a 1.5 in hole saw, ~33.6 mm for a tight friction fit). Deck-hole COUNT = pod count (Sprout 3 / Harvest 6 / Bounty 9 / Farm 24 = two 12-pod decks); one basket SKU fits the whole line.
OEM pods: OEM Seed Pod Kits are BACK on the official Scotts/AeroGarden store (22+ kits, ~$13.95-29.99) + OEM Grow Baskets 50-pk (970273-0000) + grow sponges; FAQ: kits compatible with EVERY model. The 'Grow Anything' kit lets you seed your own.
What fits (aftermarket / DIY): Third-party 50-pk grow baskets marketed AeroGarden-compatible: Aooccder (B09NJZT9SL), Ecoogrower (B08KRX2VTX); generic ~1.5 in plugs / Park Seed Bio Dome sponges / Rapid Rooter / rockwool substitute for the sponge.
OEM nutrient: AeroGarden Liquid Plant Food (100824-0000), NPK 4-3-6 + micros (Ca 1.0% / Mg 0.5%), pH-buffered -- back on the official store.
Aftermarket nutrient: Any complete general hydroponic nutrient: GH MaxiGro (1-part powder) or Flora 3-part, MasterBlend 4-18-38 + calcium nitrate + Epsom, FoxFarm, Dyna-Gro (bloom formula for fruiting).
Heads up:
- OEM supply was DISRUPTED in the 2024-25 wind-down then RELAUNCHED (spring 2025) -- the generic sponge+basket route is the cheaper, resilient hedge regardless of brand status.
- The 'add nutrient' reminder is a TIMER, not a sensor -- dose by the aftermarket nutrient's schedule.
- Basket is a ~1.5 in net pot; deck hole ~1.5 in nominal (~33.6 mm tight). One basket size fits all models; match the deck-hole COUNT (3/6/9/24) when buying kits.
- New OEM pod cases can be too LONG for older Sprout/Harvest units; some owners trim the case ~1 in or remove a water-pan support brace -- a real fitment edge case.
Many "compatible" / DIY methods are COMMUNITY-tested, not manufacturer-endorsed -- match the physical format (basket diameter, pod type) and dose by the AFTERMARKET nutrient's own schedule, not the unit's reminder light.
