Which pods & nutrients fit your smart garden?
Own an AeroGarden, Click & Grow, Gardyn, Rise or a generic countertop garden? Tell us the brand or model and we will show the pods, grow sponges and nutrients that fit it -- OEM where it exists, plus the cheaper aftermarket/DIY options that fit the same deck. We read 16 system families and do not guess.
Gardyn (vertical hydroponic tower: Home / Home 4 / 3.0 / Studio)
Supported (brand active) OEM-confirmed Refillable
Pod format: Proprietary pre-seeded 'yCube' (coir/peat plug in a cube housing) germinated in the Nursery tray, then dropped into the tower columns -- TRUE recirculating hydroponics (pump + reservoir + lights).
OEM pods: Gardyn yCubes (pre-seeded) + Seedless yCubes. Pricing is MEMBERSHIP-gated: $1.99 each WITH membership vs $4.99 + ~$9.99 shipping WITHOUT.
What fits (aftermarket / DIY): No verifiable pre-seeded third-party yCube. What exists: REUSABLE/refillable yCube replacement BASKETS on Etsy -- a DIY shell you fill with rockwool/plug + your own seed. Community practice: buy OEM yCubes once, then reuse the housings.
OEM nutrient: Gardyn 'Plant Food' (proprietary liquid) dosed into the reservoir; the app schedules dosing. No published NPK/EC.
Aftermarket nutrient: Because Gardyn IS true hydroponics, a general hydroponic nutrient (GH Flora, MaxiGro, Dyna-Gro) works in the reservoir -- target leafy-green ~EC 1.0-1.5 (700-1,200 PPM), pH ~5.8-6.2 (a GENERAL cross-reference, not a Gardyn spec).
Heads up:
- Membership is OPTIONAL (device runs on factory schedules); but without it yCubes jump to $4.99 + shipping -- the cost-vs-membership math is the real query.
- Germinate seedless/DIY cubes in PLAIN water -- Gardyn says plant food HAMPERS germination; do not seed into a dosed reservoir. Aftermarket 'pods' are empty baskets, not pre-seeded substitutes.
Many "compatible" / DIY methods are COMMUNITY-tested, not manufacturer-endorsed -- match the physical format (basket diameter, pod type) and dose by the AFTERMARKET nutrient's own schedule, not the unit's reminder light.
